OpenSpades intends to break away from voxlap clients eventually, everyone needs to be on the same client for a fair playing field. This would allow cool things like being able to see other player's flashlights which would make the gameplay richer.
your points are good if you care more about aos "in the long run" than about the immediate situation. to be honest, i don't. i'd rather create something that the more competitive players can enjoy using right now than wait for people who (as far as i know) play only occasionally and aren't necessarily "high level" players to get things right. "right" is purely subjective, but this is my "right" and many good players seem to agree that i'm making a positive contribution here. richer gameplay is something i would love to see, but i don't think that flashlights or sprint bobbing really provide much in the way of depth.
The new sound engine in OpenSpades is a huge improvement and gets rid of the absurd ability to hear and precisely locate people digging deep underground from 100m away which makes stealth almost impossible.
making it literally impossible to gauge which direction a sound is coming from is not an improvement. stealth is entirely possible... you should watch a league game or two if you'd like some examples
Going back to the original sound system makes about as much sense as making players visible through blocks when looking down from above "because that's what voxlap did", not because it makes any sense or improves gameplay.
who says it was reverted to the original system? maybe you should try it before you start criticizing it :)

Likewise, progress for the sake of progress doesn't do much either. I've never run into any issues with the sounds in the Voxlap version personally, I actually liked it. I haven't played with OpenSpades enough to know the difference between the two, but making something new just for the sake of it being the "new thing" doesn't do much but appease the simple-minded. (See: Apple, the gaming industry as a whole, hell most technology companies)

What servers are you trying to join? Some don't allow other clients to join.
Mainly aloha pk servers, which let openspades clients join but not this one.
EDIT: Ok it lets me go on servers, but auto kicks me when I spawn. It kicks on every server too.

Are you getting an error message when you get kicked, or something like 'You have been kicked for x'

Well yeah, because their system works and it makes money, they want their piece of the pie too.

Perhaps you should tell us the problem and allow for a response to help rectify the issue before you start screaming and yelling. I have informed topo and if he receives the message he will respond as soon as is convenient.

Ok, sorry for the rude ness, I was just entirely pissed with not being able to read.
Problem is: When I join I get no pictures. On the openspades awhile back I got no words, just pictures. On here I have no words, no curser, and a bunch of country flags. When I move my mouse up and down I get a lot of clicking.

EDIT: K I hit enter and it disappeared and OPENSPADES popped up and didn't do anything... O.o Green_Surprised2

You've had the same problem with normal openspades client, so I'm guessing it's something wrong with some software, or your hardware can't run it.

the fact that you had the same problem with the other client didnt make you think that the problem could be on your end?

i used the download on the newsletter, the start up is the same, and settings saved, I believe it might be a setting problem.
