Openspades FTW!

Do yourselves a favour and start a new community. This one is stagnant and very possibly moderated by Jagex and its associates.
Seriously. The silence and inaction of the moderators here is very very telling!

At least I think, that was so long ago I might have been thinking of another update with the IRC thing. I personally have no real issues with 0.76 past that font renderer.ReubenMcHawk wrote:Wasn't .76 not even officially released? IIRC it was distributed over the forums and IRC as an open beta.Probably the first time I've ever disagreed with you (if I'm inferring what you're saying correctly, that is) - 0.76 is absolutely fine, there's a few minor bugs to iron out, I don't agree with altering 0.76 in any deliberate way (I like the falloff on the rifle and other weapons) but I do believe work needs to be done on ironing out these bugs and then updating, instead of waiting for 0.75 to magically become the 'good' version it clearly isn't. 0.76 was and is an open beta, but it doesn't have to be.

Mat said, a month or so before Jagex showed their face on the previous forums, that there is a plan to branch AoS into 2 versions. One is the .76 version, which was going to be free and it was going to serve as a demo while the other version is 1.0 which you had to pay for in order to play it. The only version of those 2 that was going to be updated is the 1.0 version.
He said that .76 WILL be released. When Jagex showed up they, in a non obvious way, said that .76 will not be officially released.
And yes, RC versions of .76 were given to people that visited #AoS.
Remember when people would get into the channel and ask for .76 and when they would get the link they would instantly leave?

I notice most that participate in the community play .76. Huge amount of those that are not play .75. They don't know the difference between these two.

I didn't start playing AOS again until 2 weeks ago when I got 0.76...It was so much less of a clusterfuck with all the aimbotters gone. But it would be a better idea to balance the two versions so that we don't replicate the hacking fiasco known as 0.75.
Also, the weapon balance is beautiful. We have much less insta-headshot hip-firing kills from an SMGer in 0.76

Sorry, but what does 0.75 have that 0.76 doesn't? I'm just wondering.

And the SMG is no longer the lance of God. And the shotgun is actually worth something...sorta...

Nice sense of humour.
Personally I don't play AOS anymore. Too much 24/7 bullshit

-Battlefire: The rifle isn't 100% accurate in 0.76. At 127.5 blocks, the xy fog limit (as in, without considering height), you have about an 80% chance of hitting within .5 blocks of where your shot is aimed, or in other words, an 80% chance of landing a headshot when your crosshair is perfectly aimed at their head. Even though this is much more accurate than 0.75 (which was around 35%), the falloff makes up for it quite nicely.
-Twily: The spade is nowhere near OP in 0.76. It's much worse than it was in 0.75, and while it isn't completely broken, it's closer to broken than it is to overpowered. Meanwhile, the font thing may seem like a petty complaint, but it irks me greatly how difficult darker fonts (killfeed, server messages, pm's, blue teamchat, spectator teamchat) are to read, especially because both lowercase i and l and lowercase c and o are indistinguishable in these fonts.
-Major Darkstar, funny that you bring up how thankful you are for the lack of aimbotters, considering you were banned for it on at least seven different occasions. It's ok though, because Stack has just finished developing anticheat to be implemented in the new and improved BnS launcher. Additionally, the weapon balance in 0.75 felt fine in my opinion. If you play smart with any weapon, you were bound to do well. Having good gamesense and an accurate shot are both more powerful than any single weapon.

I honestly don't see the point in having two versions that are very similar. Where the only difference is a few improvements on .76. Especially not with a small community like this.
Anyway, the launcher. Wouldn't it be a good idea for greasemonkey to help developing it, if he's interested?
