I'm pretty sure you can't sanely change the speed (/rapid is a server-controlled hack which is quite lag-sensitive) nor can you change the spread at all without changing the client.

Yes, its so annoying as the rifle spread in 0.75 ... huh will I be able to take him out 100% or will I fail because of the dropoff/spread. These little things can change an entire game. Especially in the league.
It's weird because dropoff was something that was suggested weekly when .75 was younger.

if anything, headshots at a distance should be awarded more because they are harder to pull (for most, that is)

Dropoff is predictable and something you can learn to control.

.75's spread was completely random iirc.

Grease, can you make one commit we can all pull so we don't get a bunch of extraneous merges in the future?

Which repo do you want me to commit against, and what do you want for it?

I was just pointing out how the general views over the game have changed.

I'm not worried about dropoff in general, I just feel that it is completely unnecessary to make rifle headshots anything but a 1-hit kill. If all I can do is hit the chest of some guy far away, that's my fault.

I agree. Would love to see this tweaked for league matches.

Personally don't care. Perhaps rebase your 0.76 branch so it goes vanillia 0.76 -> headshot fix -> iceball support. I'll just pull it whatever you do.

any game in which headshots made by a long-range weapon aren't instant kills shouldn't exist

Let's hope the admins here aren't Kerry Prendergast. It's currently 34 yes - 2 no (94% - 6%).

... well, I think that anything more than one hit would just be a terrible idea
