Guncraft is an indie voxel FPS currently in free open beta which will be releasing on the 11th and will launch on Steam shortly thereafter, possibly on the 11th (The game was on steam greenlight and got greenlit on the 28th). It has a pace a little faster than AoJ, and features a wide variety of game modes, includign the typical dm, tdm, and ctf, along with a horde mode called onslaught, lava survival where, instead of killing players, you freeze them in place for 10 seconds so that rising lava will swallow them up, meteor survival, where players avoid meteors which fall from the sky in increasingly large numbers as the game goes on, along with a fully featured spleef mode, with more such as kart racing and hide 'n seek in the works for post launch. The game features several types of vehicles, a killstreak system that allows you to select 3 of about a dozen or so killstreaks, ranging from predator mode (see players through blocks) at 2 kills to a large plane which launches rockets at 12 kills. It also features several vehicles, notably a passenger bike which can carry flag carriers in CTF. Instead of predefined classes, there is a class editor which allows players to pick a primary weapon, secondary weapon, melee weapon (from instant kill swords to hammers which place blocks quickly to drills which mine quickly), two sets of consumables, a combat buff, a build buff, and the aforementioned killstreaks. The game's build system features variable strength blocks with different costs, ranging from balsawood, which can be destroyed by a single bullet, to steel, ten times as strong. The game features a prefab system, allowing players to make prefabs and take 10 of them into the game. They cost slightly more than the sum of their blocks, and may require extensive mining or killing of players in order to be placed. They also are not build instantly, instead being built in 1 block layers, with about 1.5 seconds in between each layer, although this can be lessened by using a hammer or by using the architect build mode buff. There is also a cooldown after placing a prefab during which the particular prefab cannot be placed again. The game allows players to create their own maps (which can then be submitted to the developers on the game's forums to be put into the official builds with credit given to their creator, although they can be used on a server that the creator of them hosts regardless of whether they have been submitted to the devs or not).
Players can also create aforementioned prefabs, skins, and...
Why is the game called guncraft, you may ask?
Because you can create your own guns!
Players can create their gun any way they want, place special blocks to indicate handles and firing points, create an ironsights image, assign stats (this uses a point based system where each stat costs a certain number of points, players have 100 points to spend on each gun's stats), send it to the developers for their approval (this step exists so that all of the 12 year olds won't create grenade launching male genitalia), and go kick some people's butts ingame with it!
The game currently features 61 official maps to battle on, with more constantly being created by community members Erk, Buffdaddy, and Zairne. It additionally has a voxel importer which allows you to import maps from just about any game with voxels/poxels (haven't tested it on AoS maps yet...).
