They can change all the gameplay they wan't but it won't run on my computer and it (probably) won't run on Linux.I don't see it doing that. They've already screwed the old community over, and I doubt it can match the feel of the old game. On top of that, there are a lot of people in a situation like you, where it simple isn't possible to play.
I want jagex to fail because I want Iceball to succeed, simply as that.

... yeahhhh this sounds like the bait for the trap... a "classic mode" that they will add stuff to? Nice try, Jagex!
they still are not getting my money until my grandmothers rig can play the whole game... which is like a dell from 2006.

Well, I am glad you guys are confident, but I am worried there are some people who may dislike jagex now, but would switch over if the gameplay was decent enough and, let's say, jagex did 64+ player servers or something (not to say we couldn't do that too.) Or, let's say, the gameplay became good enough, and graphics became the tiebreaker (cause they could run it).
Then there are those that say "let Jagex prove they learned their listen and listen to the community (a bit) and we will be mature and forgive them" or those that worry about "dividing the player-base". I have no grudge against Jagex, on the contrary without them we would not be able to get any open source thing going. And as long as there are enough people to keep a server or two full it's fine with me. After that I say a positive derivative in the player-count, and the energy and optimism that go with it, are more crucial.

Maybe if aos 1.00 was free, graphics weren't so intense, no clas- Oh wait thats beta.
Still I'm not completely against playing aos 1.00 if there is a decent classic mode.

As long as they don't apologize for their bad behaviour towards the community I don't even think about to buy it.

@Dzhoel, jagex employees definitely read this section of the site. They cherry pick comments like yours and report them to their supervisors.
@RedBull, That is how I feel too.
Seriously, they wont have a command post by the time they launch the gamemode. That is ridiculous. It already exists! That lackadaisical systemic company-wide mindset/culture is what they need to change and then they need apologize for making us put up with that unacceptable behavior.

Could be tempted to purchase the game if Jagex deliver on this promise. I'd wait for a while after it was released before considering it, though.

Would you let them release your maps Influx, under what licence if so? I'd enjoy being able to play on Normandie, however if they go and screw it up like they did with Hiesville.

This mode will not be an exact replica, far from it, but we will get it as close as possible by working closely with the community and reintroducing the most popular elements from previous iterations.
This mode will be very much sculpted over time by the community, and I will be working closely with key members of the community to help develop the mode into a one that feels like the good old days, but better.

If they do try to contact me about it, I'll discuss it with them and see where it goes, but I believe my stance is pretty obvious and not something I'm willing to change without good reason.
I've never seen Hiesville in v1.0 so I don't know what it's like, but I do know that they made a snowy version of it which SIMOX didn't seem happy about.

I'm excited for this update, it's so sad to see a game That I've played for around a year just crumble away in front of your eyes with you not being able to do anything about it. I'm glad to see the jagex is trying to do something for the majority of the community that isn't impressed with the current content the they have released. Well see in due time how they did at trying to appeal to the older r community of AC of Spades.
