Angela Merkel is the leader of Germany, which is currently bailing all the failing EU countries out. That basically means she rules Europe, and Ukraine trying to join the EU to be influenced by Germany (aka 'Germany's bitch') angers ze Russians, who seem to not realize that the Ukraine is in fact a separate country to them.
