Exploration is the main draw of the game but everything seems to be the same after you've seen a little. Oh, look a jungle. Nice, a desert. Oh, look, another jungle, and with a plain just after and then another jungle but this time with an USELESS TEMPLE :DDDD and then tundra, some plains... it just gets tired.
I kinda feel the same about this game, everytime it's about exploring n' finding diamonds, making diamond armor, sword, diamond everything.

There used to be some amazing natural structures, mountains, beautiful views from the top of mountains, back in Alpha and early Beta, but now I never see any of those.
I must agree with this.

Wut. All the old parts of the game are still there. And what was the crap about the mountains and stuff? They increased the max height and I have on my world, right now, this gorgeous mountain range topped with a few floating isles.

"Ooh, we have more features as well as the old ones! This game is terrible!"

Also, everything that Captain_Pi said stands.

They modified the terrain generator in more ways than just increasing the max height. If I'm not mistaken the last and most expressive TG modificatiom happpened was in mid-Beta.
Personally, I believe that the best world generation was Alpha's. Not that you can't find those things anymore, it is just that they seem rarer.
And personally, the only new feature that I'd enjoy if it was removed or at least radically changed are jungles. I only need to visit the place once to get a couple of cocoa beans and start a fully autonomous production of cookies, and maybe some cats, altough I think they are a wee bit useless, as creepers can be easily taken out with charging and stepping back, and avoided with proper security measures while building. Besides, the place is hard to navigate as fuck and ugly as hell.

Because no one ever had the desire to build a city in the trees.
Besides, one of the most fun things I've done was clearing a road through a jungle. To each their own I guess.
By the way, they made them a heck of a lot rarer now, if that makes you happier. Also, they made biomes flow realistically into each other, so no more deserts next to snow fields anymore.

I missed the old tactical clan war days. There was once a time when combat was 25v25 teams of teamed up clans. The battle was decided on who built the most efficient wall/cannon, numbers, and tactics. Oh, how I remember the days of storming castles with my clan. Now, combat is decided upon who has the best God sword, or the most time to grind enchantments. I'm an alpha player, and always will be.

I remember alpha, and then beta came out and everyone hated how they changed multiplayer, and then it just got worse from 1.0 release onwards. (IMO.)

I mean, heh, their content was never excellent but by god has it decreased over the past few months. Instead of it being childish, vulgar and witty at times, it's now childish, vulgar and completely devoid of intelligence.

So I redownloaded minecraft, and started it up. What had happened to it? Holy Bejesus, jungles and temples and pre-built structures all over the place! What? This isn't the minecraft I know anymore! We used to build massive houses and sub-terrain theme parks, but now there seems to be none of that. Just... spells and crap. I mean, honestly, spells!? SPELLS!? That isn't minecrafty at all! And by spells I mostly mean 'enchantments' :P

No no lemon, there are still servers out there that have awesome factions and whatnot. I play on a server where you can only have the most basic enchantments, so skill is the utmost factor.

Minecraft is still a pretty fun, diverse game.

I never liked playing survival alone, I do however love playing on parkour/adventure maps now & then.
