I'm more than willing to admit that I suck, but so does 0.75's Rifle at the fog-line.

I did the mathematics, and with a perfectly aimed shot, within a 0.5-block radius (this just makes the maths a bit easier, really), a spread of 0.006 is going to hit stuff at the fog line 35% of the time, while a spread of 0.004 will hit it 79% of the time (read: you miss 65% of your shots on the fog line in 0.75, and 21% of them in 0.76), and 0.003 is guaranteed. 0.006 works well for the SMG as long as you have sane damage values.

So either this is one hell of a mislead/placebo, or I'm better off with the Rifle in 0.76 and failing with it in 0.75 because of balancing. Reduced firerate and increased accuracy make a hell of a difference for me, I guess.

Not really, in .75 even at moderate ranges the spread can be a bit frustrating, making it necessary to do a follow-up shot because the would-be headshot missed completely or ended up hitting the chest.


But yeah, @topic, the SMG is a very easy to use weapon for anybody, that can kill enemies easily in most situations, but the Rifle is the most versatile and powerful weapon, due to it's one-shot-headshot ability. Shotgun is the most fun to use, tho.

I like SMG. You can take out people that are in a group better than a rifle. Rifle is good for sniping and camping. Shotgun if you bored and just go in.
