Say Jagex would abandone AoS, would we then be allowed to update it and bring out pachtes again?

Well, if they sell the rights to someone like dan, Stack, GreaseMonkey or some other member of the community, yeah, we would.

I could manage the projectile bullet drop thing, but only if the rifle didn't have any other spread.
The thing about that is, I don't think AOS could support physics like that.

I think with the rifle the bullet should be moving fast enough that at fog range if you place your sights on their forehead the bullet would hit the top of their chest, right below the head model.
At fog range? Thats pretty much negligible if it barley drops at the farthest range. And it still does nothing to address the fact that rifle doesnt have a single "downside".

I remember suggesting that the rifle should return to pinpoint accuracy but have rate of fire and ammo nerfs.
bcoolface tried it out and it worked pretty well, but unfortunately as the RCs went on, more and more people complained because they were so used to spamming the heck out of the 0.75 rifle that he increased it almost back to what it was in 0.75 and instead added damage dropoff; that was the problem.
Heh, the early .76 rifle nerfs were definitely a step in the right direction. But they were just that, a step. I honestly dont think the community will ever be able to accept a rifle nerf thatd actually allow multiple weapons to be feasible.

The Rifle and SMG are good and effective weapons as they are, they're not OP in any way because if you had 32 players killing everyone else with either a Rifle or an SMG, nothing is unbalanced and everyone has an equal amount of firepower.

Using shotguns on the other hand are up to the players themselves. There's a reason shotguns are like that. They are for close quarters combat dishing out immense damage in a short area, so range clearly is a negligible factor when it comes to weapons like these. They're not entirely underpowered, they're just not being used for what they're meant for.

I don't think of the SMG as a good weapon since the damage for it is high at the headshot and has little recoil.
Most of the time I don't even see the shotgun do its job. Hell, the SMG does a better job at close range than the shotgun.

I looked on the AOS classic wiki and found that the maximum damage the shotgun can do is 37, compared to the SMG's 75 max damage.

Rifle stats: Headshot /49/33
SMG stats: 75/29/18
Shotgun stats: 37/27/16

The best thing the shotgun has is the quick reload.

I believe that is the damage per pellet, no?

Shotguns OP
Multiple bullets
reload while aiming
People think you're wielding an under powered weapon.

Well, it'd be more accurate to say that you can interrupt it mid-reload.

I'm a bit late to the party, but I'll say this anyways.

Shotguns are, well, shotguns. They're only basically effective at close range. They're more of a "fun gun," if you will. Frankly, in any other game, shotguns aren't that effective in medium range combat.

The SMG isn't necessarily overpowered, but they are used by a lot of newbies due to their easy use. However, once one graduates from using an SMG to a rifle, and once that rifle user gets good enough, he could potentially overcome any SMG users at close/medium range, the SMG's effective range.

tl;dr shotgun < SMG < rifle, but skill is required or something idk
