A light machine gun. Relatively accurate, low damage, large clip size (100 bullets).
Assault rifle, to take the place of the SMG except a little bit better balanced.

And I'm not as radical as eliminating the SMG just yet (even though I heavily protested it's inclusion before it was added) but it needs to be nerfed. I think all the guns should eliminate any spread they have and gun balance should be maintained through kickback and damage. It's kind of ridiculous getting into sniper battles with people using SMG's at long range.

Yea smg should be replaced with a assault rifle, also secondaries would make this game great. Such as shotgunners get crossbow or something, assault riflers get rpg, and riflers get pistol. Vehicles would probably be pushing it, but, I wouldn't mind planes. :) these are all dreams of coarse

I'm thinking stationary heavy machine guns, like what you'd see on the side of a helicopter in Battlefield, except on the ground.
That would make the classic AoS trench warfare a bit more, well, trench warfare-like.
Implementation: The SMG guy (Assault?) can place the SMG on the ground, but can't pick it back up. However, by doing so, the SMG gains double clip size and reserve ammo, at the cost of halving the firing speed. In addition, it can be destroyed by grenades or slightly more bullet damage than blocks, i.e. four to six Semi shots.
Might help the OP SMG problem a bit, since people are going to want to pop down what is essentially a slow-firing, manual turret on top of a tower and shoot down, but in doing so, they'll reduce the speed of the SMG to a non-OP level. Combined with a slight accuracy nerf, and you've got a fairly balanced weapon.

Would it just be an SMG with the ability to place on the ground and then shoot it like a MG, a completely separate weapon or a replacement to the SMG?

Alright so smg... less accuracy at range keep damage the same. Keep the riffle the exact same with just a gad dang iron sight because your common soldier doesn't have fancy cawadooty sights... Its not a problem all the people who complain just are not that good with it. The shotgun is the most realistic I have ever seen so keep that the same other than that I want to see a heavy machine gun that can be placed down in three points on each teams side of the field. Other than that I dont want to see anything else added into this game.

Grenades could do a bit more damage, but not too much ^^

I also disagree about the SMG. IF it is kept in the game, I think it should have less damage(something around 45-30-20) at close range and suffer a brutal drop-off at long range(something like 25-17-13) while always having perfect accuracy like the Rifle. Or we could just remove an SMG altogether and add a HMG as the game's automatic weapon.

1.Bolt Action Rifle 100/80/40
2.Semi 100/40/35
3.Smg 50/25/20
4.Shotgun 5 pellets x 25/20/10
5.HMG (Deployable) 50/30/25
6.Mortar (Deployable) Shells with 2x power of classic grenade (same destruction) 1/6 ammo ( Aimed Via Map 2 tiles most range )
2.Semi 100/40/35
3.Smg 50/25/20
4.Shotgun 5 pellets x 25/20/10

It essentially becomes a controllable block that you can put down by pressing, oh, let's say "H" when you have the SMG equipped. You'll lose the for the rest of that life, but you or anyone else can hop onto the gun and start shooting.
For example, a shotgun guy wants to be useful, but the front lines are full of spam. An SMG guy who isn't very good can pop down his gun and dig a tunnel, while the shotgun guy mans the turret until the front lines are a bit safer and he can abandon the turret.

The point is that the weapons shouldn't have to great recoil just a bit In my opinion (but with relative lowered dmg) so you can put suppressive fire on enemy lines covering your teamates while they pass , build , steal intel etc. something like real LMGs do , there are suppressive weapons for a reason In real life.
Also there should add support weapons like Snipers , HMG , mortars to make the gameplay unique and awesome.

As for the SMG, a fully automatic weapon is going to have some spread after close/medium range and yes damage should be reduced after medium range .H@nkthet@nk wrote:Alright so smg... less accuracy at range keep damage the same.
