We just haven't seen new content or any improvement front you. What you need to do is keep making weapons on your own, without anybody asking you to, improve on feedback, and keep making them. Eventually you'll get good enough to the point where you get requests, but for now you need to work on your own and get feedback on random projects.

Just look at my mods, some of the earlier ones are of lower quality (towards the bottom of my page) and they progressively get better.

Just practice, practice, practice.
