Also about the smg thing the Game should have SMG because its better to have (cause of many things) it and Icebal has the possibility to remove it.
MG Is taking out the SMG because Its OP. He wants even weaponry.

I feel like as each mod is supposed to be it's own package, it should provide it's own description and other meta data. Maintaining a global list of mods+metadata will be difficult and undercuts the modularity associated with packages. More importantly, though I think having or requiring at least some metadata/documentation would be a good idea.
This is what I was going to say. With your current method, installing a new mod will require, at best, copy-pasting something from the mod author into your mod config file, and at worst, write your own entry. You say you're working on an easier mod api, and yet you come up with something as stupid and awkward as this.

And, why is it so stupid and awkward?

Constructive criticism is helpful, just saying my idea is stupid is not. Please give me something to go on, I want to improve my ideas. But posts such as yours are simply not helpful.

I kinda like Hobohob's idea of allowing different mods to work together. But is that config file really necessary? Maybe just putting the mods in the mods folder will do.

Your post tells me what's wrong, not what's right.

Without telling me what's right, I could go and make a system that's even worse. I need an idea of what you/others want. It doesn't help me to say "Your wrong", it does help me to say "This is the right way".

So tell me, what would you prefer?

Actually, I did - I said I agreed with Nix, who said that each mod should contain its own metadata.

I have an idea. The SMG becomes an Assault rifle. That fix your issues?

The regular rifle would probably have to become a bit more of a sniper rifle to balance them better.

Jesu christe! There, that's how it'll look. All the help and description and shit will be in the actually lua files for each mod, we'll just to have make sure the mod "reader" or whatever will check to make sure it's there and now how to use it.

haha there is way too much confusion and argument for such a simple thing.

And what do you expect to achieve by posting these ideas here? And Vucgy, you need to work on your English a bit. I could hardly read what you posted.

I have picked up Lua. I hope to be able to start writing stuff for Iceball soon! Huzzah for inspiration!
