Well private servers have been an issue that everyone has wanted, and now there's a thread for it.
Its a step, I know a lot of you feel burned about 1.0, especially since many of you might of been banned, but im doing what I can to try and plead to jagex to get things fixed (Though the thread in question is not mine)

Signing it would be appreciated, They are already getting towards the point where their only way to avoid the subject is to be silent. Continued pushing will surely get us somewhere.

Would sign but sniped banned me from the steam forums and the AoS forums for a week after I started really pushing him on that topic, I used the IGN article and Destructoid article to really slam Jagex on that. After I stated that IGN revised their score down and described 1.0 as a downgrade he banned me for "flaming"
He also cited my signature that literally said "join us over at build and shoot" as a violation due to advertising inappropriate sites.

It was a joke, referring to the fact that jagex is REFUSING to give us privately hosted servers, despite :In reply to this on the AoS forums, Jagex created this game as a money grab, the reason why we can't have custom servers is because it would allow people to create cracked servers and avoid having to buy AoS. It's as simple as that, but they won't admit.
*Hacks and abuse happening RIGHT NOW, making the argument about "stable / robust servers" redundant.
*People being more than skilled enough to host servers, many of which with experience
*A huge, demand, and a petition for it.
*The obvious solution of allowing privately hosted servers, but WARNING people that its not a jagex official server, perhaps having 2 different lists
*Community would help drive sales IF this were enabled, as there's far far FAR more room for creativity
*I cannot recall another game (Besides MMO's) That do not allow custom servers.
*It would take the burden off servers from you, cut company costs
*It would help greatly with areas without servers
*It's what the customer wants
*Your MAIN argument I've seen has been security, but having player hosted servers with player admins PLAYING is usually the best security, since when problems arise (griefing, hacks, trolls) they will be dealt with faster than even the most sophisticated server software. And hacks can be blocked in player hosted servers anyway, with plugins that WILL be written by people, if you allow them to be made.
Given all of this, I see no reason why jagex wishes too prevent player hosted servers, other than the thought of holding them hostage, only to rent them out later for a fee. This is both unfair, and unwanted by customers, but if people are going to get charged for something that takes work anyway (managing a server) They WILL NOT do it.
If what I said above (Renting servers) Is not the plan, then tell me, WHAT is the reason for refusing to provide a small bit of software for player hosted servers? Or do you know / have they told you? I'm beginning to think mods and such don't know the answer themselves, but I'll say this : If servers aren't provided, this game will NOT live very long.

I asked and they said "they weren't at liberty to discuss" why you were banned.

Kind of silly. Well I look forward to seeing you back.

Honestly Jagex doesn't know a whole lot about Public Relations. They have made a huge mess of things, a freaking huge mess.
