I have been playing Blacklight Retribution for a few days now and I have to say it is a really great game. A lot has changed since the first game in the series(BlackLight: tango down) such as the hard suits and an improved HRV head set. Blacklight Retribution features the Hyper Reality Visor or HRV which allows the player to locate enemies, mines, weapon depots and Hard suit weak points through walls and other obstacles for a very short amount of time. HRV also has a very limited use and needs to recharge. The hard suit is pretty much a mech that you can purchase using the in-game points at a weapons depot. The draw back to begin the strongest and most powerful weapon in the game is that you have a very large weak spot that is hard to defend. The maps are also very well done and the shooting feels great.
On a side note this is my first time using fraps, how did I do?

I'm trying to play it. I played it before but uninstalled it because some parts I didn't like. But want to play it again. But the patches are too big. I downloaded the manual download patches but they didn't work. Doing the patch from the launcher always fails and restarts.

Why do they make the patches so big?

I used steam to download and play the game, when it launched the patch was pretty small. Ether around or less then 1GB, contact their support and see if they can help you. What didn't you like about it?

Well some of the weapons were very overpowered. Even more when it's customized. But they changed the level of damage on most of them and changed the range instead which I like. I also heard they have a new gametype that is zombies or something.

I have not seen one person use something other then a modified default weapon. if you just change one or two things on the default it comes insanely easy to get kills. I myself changed it into an SMG but it can pull of head shots at mid range. The down side is that now someone using a rifle even if it is an assault rifle can easily kill me if I don't see them. How ever if I do see them first then they are dead with in seconds.

When I was playing it was pretty different. Guns that have been customize hardcore. It was ridicules. Most of them where customize from the start up gun you get. But the rest are very different.

1GB is rather large for misc patches.
