I know this shouldnt be here, but I want more attention for that. So basicly Joejoe_stinky, Lostmotel and me decied to bring out a Mappack with 3-6 maps every or every second month. thats up to you, if you want more complex maps or open field. So for the first pack we decied what kind of maps there will be, and this will be a city based map and an island-snow map. now you have to tell us should there be "skyscrapers " like in harbor2 or just a town, like in the old texas...

I would like/love to have a GTA Themed Map, It could be good for TC, CTF or maybe Infiltration or just normal TDM.

LINESPQR or something like that?

It'd be cool if you made a desert map with a flat area with a small town in the middle and pretty big wavy dunes all over the map except in the town part. Kind of like this, but with a smaller town and without water maybe:

It'd be pretty cool for King of the Hill (difference is it wouldn't really be a hill you have to be king of, but the opposite). The town area shouldn't have enough floor blocks for people to tunnel in order to make things more interesting.
I just want a desert map though, so feel free to ignore all my KotH idea thing. Enari's Stranded map has the feels I'd like this one to have, however Stranded is an island and its dunes are gigantic and too flat on the top.
Have fun making these maps.

Im, personally, a fan of urban maps that contain many small buildings and a few larger buldings ("skyscrapers") that attract most of the action. People are less likely to go around griefing the smaller buildings and when there are too many buildings with endless layers the action can fall short, so those are pluses. That's my recommendation. Excited to see what you guys will make.
I also noticed many of the maps you guys make are bigger maps for ctf like game modes. I'd love to see some smaller, action packed maps that could work for arena.

The first option seems cool. With cool street fighting and snipers on building.

I will be making a post in the next couple of days to see if you guys are interested.
Everyone will be welcome to contribute, I really do not want this to be like the "official" pyspades pack. I want everyone to have a chance to get into the action. Existing maps will be more than welcome, if they are submitted by the original author.
I really hate going to a new game forum and having to deal with elitist jerks in their little "old-boys" club. OpenSpades mapping should never evolve into this. Openness and helping people out will make things better for everyone. That new guy who makes crappy maps, might evolve into That new guy who makes kick-ass trees because we gave him a little attention and constructive criticism. At one time I made really ugly maps. But with some help from Izzy, and some critz, I learned some nice mapping skills.Tripplefox, and Izzy, and Mat^2 where (and still are), really helpful to the new guy.
The 2 main focuses are : Getting new people to start mapping!, and a convenient package servers can install for some quality gameplay. It would be really awesome if when OpenSpades premiers in the Debian or Ubuntu repositories, that there are some really sweet looking map shots. I plan on making this into a .DEB package as well, I really want them in the repo, not scattered out in some obscure mapping forum's archives.
Hopefully by working and testing together, we can make some "AAA" quality maps.
Sharing resources and helping each other plan should make it so we can produce this pack in under 2 months.
Mappers are not the only ones we need. The doors are open to anyone who knows how to use Slab6 for gun or skin mods. Mappers need trees, buildings, boats, houses, hills.... What ever you can dream up, a mapper will probably be able to use it.
Once the map-pack is done, we will zip all of our assets up into a mapping kit. That way people will have resources to rapidly produce their own maps. This will also be submitted for the Debian or Ubuntu apt-repository.
More to come...
