Hey guys, I think this should be the thread where all of our ideas can be compiled, thought of, improved, and basically set up in a nice clean way. Here is how we are going to compile them (At least on this thread :P)
PLACEMENT
Basically, you state the general area your idea would apply to.
Here are the more general ones:
GAMEPLAY
BALANCING
APPEARANCE
ADVERTISING
etc.
Now I have a couple ideas of my own, Feel free to criticize them, but don't be rude about it.
1. Loadouts
I was wondering, if some of the items we wanted to be added in (Barbed Wire,Bazookas,etc.) were to be added in somehow, how would it work? WE DO NOT WANT CLASSES (at least I don't), because we do not wanna be BlockyField 4...
So I was thinking, loadouts!
This is how it would work:
Primary Weapon: Rifle, SMG, Shotgun, Bazooka, etc.
Secondary Weapon:Pistols, and anything else that could be counted as a secondary weapon o_o
Utility: Mines, Barbed Wire, MedKits, Ammo Kits (OH NO BLOCKYFIELD 4 D:), grenades, etc.
People can interchange their Loadouts how they wish beforegame, and maybe have 3 Loadouts they may choose from during the game, that way they can completely cover their playstyle.
2.Pistols
Pistols are something we have always wanted,but how EXACTLY would they work? Would there only be 1 type of pistol? Multiplie Pistols? If so, what would each of them do? I need a little clarification myself on how these would work, please try to fix these up with me!
I would lvoe to hear from all of you, critiquing these here, and making up your own!

You are speaking for yourself in that post a lot. I myself love battle field and want AoS to turn into it rather then just being a shooter. So please look deeper into what loadouts and classes are before you try to offend someone. And if we were being that vague on stuff being clones, wouldn't every FPS game copy off of each other? You are saying I am mentioning "Loadouts" From BF, when in reality, basically every FPS game now has Classes and loadouts. Thats like saying Bf3 copied COD because they have customizable weapons.
And I am kinda talking about myself in that post mostly because, I dunno, It was my idea, and I wanted to see input on it...? And bridge Wars would be kinda horrible with Tanks and Helis, mostly because there would be no place for infantry...

I personally wouldn't like seeing AoS-like game with choppers and tanks. Maybe jeeps or boats in extra big maps, but nothing other than infantry transport.

I don't see what the problem with classes is, at all. Why are you so opposed to them?
Also, I've always thought that multiple skins for the same guns would be really cool. It would be a little more interesting, rather than seeing the same 3 guns over and over.

I think having helicopters is good. But jets won't work at all. Just a few things like tanks/armor truck, helicopters and jeeps. But for big maps not small ones.

I think we should just add small things, and mechanics, for example:
Mines, other small stuff like this.
Buying weapons - You get points for the gun you kill someone with, and you can buy a different type of gun that's different in a certain way.
Possibly even a vehicle, but this may not work.

Have you ever visited the github page or have you ever talked with yvt, learn_more or any other coder/programer ? These guys do this work in their free time FOR FREE. Have you ever contributed ANYTHING to this ?
Just search a bit in the internet about the dimensions ( money, time and number of programers) battlefield 4 or 3 has. I'm super noob at coding, programming or anything related with this BUT i'm able to think a bit realistic. You need physics, engines etc etc for cars, boats and this stuff.
Especially you jdrew, didn't you talked about pirating games is good and other people will pay them ? Now you lazy baby who doesn't want to use the money your parents putting in your ass for games, you baby who wants others to pay for your game, you baby who is even too lazy to write in your native language without horrible mistakes, you baby who isn't even able to make a fairly appealing website with a website kit, YOU dare to ask people to make things in their free time for you, so huge you won't make it in your whole life.
This thread could be quite useful if you just talked about realistic suggestions. What the hell do you want to do with barbed wire in a fps ?? There is a reason why there haven't been barbed wire in any successfull fps.
In my opinion, pistols aren't a bad idea. We have to ask someone with knowledge on this field first, but i think this wouldn't be that much work to implement them.
Anyway, classes or loadouts doesn't fit to aos, 1.0 is the best example why we probably won't use them.
Another idea from me are smoke grenades. You maybe noticed that the normal grenades produced smoke/dust after their explosion, maybe we could set the damage to 0 and just increase the smoke. To balance such new items we could reduce the number you carry of them, btw 1 smoke grenade instead of 3 normal grenades.
Some other ideas (for the far future):
- some items or weapons that the server admin or the mapper can place on the map ( like a heavy machine gun )
- since smg is so hated, i have an idea about a general weapon change:
for the smg:
- less bullets in the smg mags
- more recoil and less accurate
+ more rounds per minute
then add a light machine gun with a bipod
- super inaccurate without using the bipod
+ accurate with it
+ A LOT of bullets in a mag
- long reload time
BTW before any changes, we need a master server for os ( or? a "fork" from the normal server?, grandy mentioned something)

You idiot, loadouts are pretty much already in current AoS. When you are choosing between Rifle, SMG and Shotgun you are choosing a loadout and, for all practical purposes, a class.
