Do you guys think it's time to create the new BuildAndShoot?

Hey guys, I have been a part of this community since last year, in fact I was there when the website got started! :)

Sadly, I spent the months after that trying to presuade Jagex into making Ace Of Spades into what it was originally supposed to be... Alas, as we all know, it didn't work. I quit trying in July, and came back to play this version, .75. After playing for a while, I heard about OPENSPADES (YOU HAVE TO CHECK IT OUT xD) and have used it since. There are a couple things I have noticed.

1. OpenSpades And Iceball could very well be the way into the new BuildAndShoot!!!!
You never know when Jagex will get pissed off and stop us from playing .75... it could happen at anytime actually (unless there was a talk with them us general community don't know about) Anywho, they have NOOO control over Openspades however, and I like the community taking this step to free itself Of Jagex. The only problemo here is the fact that not everyone can PLAY openspades, so maybe this will be where Iceball can come into play as well. Iceball for the super low spec players, and OpenSpades for middle and up players. This way we can free ourselves FINALLY of any trace of Jagex. Iceball and Openspades are still big prototypes, but they both look very promising.

2. These two clients can finally bring everything We've asked for!
See, with us not under the thumb of Jagex, and not being able to edit .75 or .76, we have been at a standstill client side (except mods) for a year (HAPPY ANNIVERSARY :D)
With Iceball and Openspades, we can finally add in everything we have ever wanted! Vehicles, Pistols, MGs, EVERYTHING that Bn had once promised us, can be achieveable guys... we just have to put a little effort in on our parts! New game modes, new kinds of servers, it can ALLLLL be possible :)... All we need to do is bring these two together, so they play off of a new kind of pyspades if you will, kind of the way OpenSpades and Buildandshoot are conjoined. :)


3. WE DUN HAVE MONEY ARKY, HOW CAN WE DO THIS?

And we probably still won't...
but if we NEEEEEEEED the money, to advertise and bring people onboard, why don't we try out kickstarter?
Many things have come true for people through it, and all we need is to conact a couple youtubers to help us out with it!
NewNukeGaming, TheCount, lots of youtubers who play AceOfSpades, and Buildandshoot would help us out if it means they get more views on the latest game release!


This in my opinion, would be the best way to free ourselves, and move on the path Ben set for us... although we have all went through some tough times with this game, I thoroughly believe we must start moving forward again...


P.S Does that make me an Ancient since I've been here even before Buildandshoot was created? :D

Buildandshoot would be a good name for it in my opinion, since it kinda is the name of the website... xD

We can't use Ace Of Spades anymore, it would just be too confusing.

I don't know what you expected to accomplish by trying to "presuade" them.

I'm not so sure about that. Maybe they could try and stop the distribution of them on the site, but as far as stopping people from playing a game they've already downloaded, there's a slim to none chance of that happening.

Anywho, they have NOOO control over Openspades however, and I like the community taking this step to free itself Of Jagex.

It's already kind of free from Jagex already, there's no steps needed.

The only problemo here is the fact that not everyone can PLAY openspades, so maybe this will be where Iceball can come into play as well. Iceball for the super low spec players, and OpenSpades for middle and up players. This way we can free ourselves FINALLY of any trace of Jagex. Iceball and Openspades are still big prototypes, but they both look very promising.

Despite the poor articulation, this is a valid point, though new gamemodes are already possible.

"quoted from jdrew" should just about sum that up. Yes, you do need money to host a (decent) website and run (decent) servers. Maybe he, as the village idiot, didn't need money to get that done, but someone still had to pay for it.

Not even gonna start on the Kickstarter front, just want to say I don't see why a "new" website is needed, nor do I think many people around here are smart enough to get one going.

Hawk, by free I mean being able to develop... We cannot develop upon .75 or .76 anymore, voxlap just isn't in our possesion.

And while it can be doubted, if Jagex REALLY REALLY wanted too, they could do something about us playing the prototype of their old game. It won't stop us for long, but they could give us some big trouble.
Who also said we need a new website? We can just keep this one rolling. If everything goes according to plan, the game will have a fleshed out In game menu, meaning the server list can reside there.
And kickstarter could work as well, even if we get 100 bucks, that's money we didn't have before, and we can get the ball rolling.
And I WAS around when the website started, I just never made an account (I did I just forgot my login stuff) Anywho, as I said I went to try to gain Jagex's favor and restore the game to what it once was... (I even influenced classic mode on 1.0)
However, I am glad you looked at the post as seriously as possible, because something like this needs to be done.

This IS possible right? Or am I just grasping at nothing here? I would rather us all figure out how this would work instead of instantly bashing it, and telling me to leave after playing for a year.

And last time they were talking about Voxlap, they said Jagex bought it out? Or was I just listening to gossip? I'm very confused.
Anywho, I would like comments on HOW it would work, if it would work at all.

I was talking about advertisements because most games pay for ads to get there game more well know. Back then I don't think we payed for ads so thats why I said we didn't need money when ben was around.
