Not treating people kindly has been a problem for centuries. Once several 100,000 people gathering in one place you will have moments of disrespect whether it is intentional or not. There are lots of personalities and cultures meeting in one place. And within those personalities and cultures you have young kids / teens right in the middle of transitioning from being a child to an adult. All of that mixes together to make our culture here which isn't the worst on the internet but isn't perfect either.

Vlad is 100% wrong. Shitposting is a sign of low self esteem in my opinion. It is like showing off, the only reason some one shows off is because they get fulfillment from it. Not the people forced into watching.

What can we do? As a community, lead by example. Respond to post the way you want to be responded too. I.E. treat people the way you want to be treated. Realize some people will have a harder time understanding their behavior is wrong.

If you think someone is too disrespectful report them. I do read all the reports.

Again, there's nothing special about that. If anything, it's ridiculous to have some kind of "good posting guide". I frequent the #Starbound IRC, and they run their channel way too strict. Some asshole OP threatened to ban me because I joked about becoming a prostitute once.
