From what it sounds like, the main problem is in IRC. Why ban them from the forums if the main problem is elsewhere? Just discourage people from talking about dragon cave (warning, then kicked from channel) and you should be fine.

It's Ok to put eggs on sites, besides talking it 24/7 on the IRC is perfectly annoying.
