Hello, everyone!
I recently just downloaded OpenSpades. I started it up, but my graphics card doesn't have the proper OpenGL. In "System Report", it shows everything in green except: "GL_ARB_texture_non_power_of_two NOT SUPPORTED!"
Is there any possible way to make the current AoS (0.75 and 0.76) have similar graphics to OpenSpades, but not use OpenGL.
I would really like to play something like this. Mainly because the sun, ragdoll, and (similar to 1.0 AoS).
Or is there away to get past this error?

OpenSpades did... they made a client that uses the normal servers with overhauled graphics.
Meh.

It atleast uses the same servers. Who cares about "legal actions"? We can make our own stuff and rename it. They can't get us in trouble if it just looks like AoS. We can make a name for it. Fagex can go screw them selves.
Meh.

This is about having another client for AoS to use DirectX, but with graphical qualities we saw with Open Spades. Using DirectX will knock down the requirements to where people who cant play OpenSpades, might just be able to play this.

also, how does using directx make a shitty pc better?
and, openspades is cross platform, and directx doesnt work on mac / linux...

This isn't about "making a shitty pc better" ... DirectX runs alot better than OpenGL. Make a client like OpenSpades, but make use of DirectX.
"This will run on your grandmother's rig."
Meh.

He wants someone to make another client like open spades but instead of using openGL he wants them to use directX.

I didn't understand why they used OpenGL at the start.

The reason why people play Ace of Spades is because their computer sucks. That a huge reason why. Don't see the reason to make it better by using openGL.

DirectX*, OpenSpades is already a version of the game with OpenGL graphics. Anyways, I think he wants more eye candy like smoother graphics but I don't understand the DirectX part and don't know who would volunteer to make a DirectX client for Ace of Spades on their own head. I mean, yeah like Battlefire said the game is made to run on older computers, but a client with some better graphics already exists in the form of OpenSpades, the problem is that some people don't have the OpenGL version required for OpenSpades to work properly so I think a 3rd client would be nice but I'm not sure (how) if that's ever going to happen. Plus, I don't think DirectX supports voxels so if a game/client was made, it would not support modding. This is just my opinion, I'm not saying it's true, I'm just saying and I have no experience in coding what so ever, I've just started learning C++ and let me tell you, it ain't easy, AT ALL.
