Not saying we stop making them. But SteamOS is pretty much like an other OS but for gaming. Also for movies and music. But other then that it's useless.

But... that's the point of SteamOS. You're not supposed to use it 24/7.
Also, those optimisations that they keep talking about might be very, very useful for future developers, so everything seems to emphasise that they do in fact contribute to the progress by making this, quite likely, fail.

Why would it run Windows when it could run SteamOS? You're silly.
It was partially a (very poor) joke in regards to the relative numbers of games for Windows and Linux. This argument does hold a small grain of truth, though; even though SteamOS can stream games from existing PCs, that still requires you to use Windows or OSX in some way.
