Seems pretty good Rakiru. How is it going Rakiru?

In the English language the first letter of a proper name is capitalized Rakiru.

But in all seriousness, me thinks there should be a technical support person just for Iceball, seeing as all dem nubs can't figure it out.

Are you volunteering?

I never played the really old versions, but everybody said auto jump killed trench warfare, so might want to remove that in your fork too rakiru.

And of course we should all take a look at what you need to change in your fork so we can abstract the right things in order so that your classic trench mode can be converted into a Lua mod.
Hmm, fair point. I'll make it a config option eventually I think, so server admins can decide if they want it or not.

30 minutes later, internet is going super slow.

Either you actually did do a very weak DDOS on me, or the neighbors are stealing the WIFI.

Say that to izzy.

Are you guys planning on having real "lighting", or something closer to AoS's beta lighting (block shading)?

Well, you'd need to work out the math behind it.
Also, I'll need to make the roll parameter in the camera set function work.

I think the general idea is that it rotates the camera locally left/right, and has some roll autocorrection so that your "chin", so to speak, always faces as down as it can without affecting the front vector, although the "chin" lags behind a bit as it gets dragged around.

Iceball's functions for this stuff are handled in angles as opposed to vectors, though, but it uses vectors internally. I might make an API to expose all that crap, but of course there's always the risk of crashes and unexpected crap...

So they're isnt a chance for it to be added?

If you really want it, you can work it out yourself, and I will quite happily add a patch if you want to enable drunken camera support. Right now it's not a priority (and with that said I haven't worked on Iceball lately as it's the Christmas break, but stuff will eventually happen soon once I get my head into gear).

Also, this thread has passed 10,000 views. Wow.

Build and ran on Debian Squeeze. (Well, the editor runs in any case.)
Some peculiarities from this distro:
Makefile:
-llua5.1
ldconfig did not help.
common.h:
lua5.1/lua.h (etc.)
Setting up symlinks manually might help?

cc1 (gcc 4.4) reports -Wno-unused-but-set-variable as unknown option.

The libraries are not an issue. From the version numbers I was under the impression that stale libraries were used. They are however the current stable releases. Running Squeeze myself I don't mind >_>

I didn't know this project was a complete rewrite. The draft for the network protocol got me a little worried. You're not using the clients-are-authorative model again, are you?

Read the makefile - there's a comment about what to do on debian-based distros (uncomment a line).
