OpenSpades is an open source alternative client for AoS Classic and beyond! Runs on Windows, Mac, and Linux. Created by yvt.
Compatible with AoS Classic.

Alright good to see that I am not going completely crazy then !!!

Also on another note, when a new version of openspades comes out where will that be posted. The only reason I ask is because besides the forums and the openspades site I do not know where this information will be posted, and I feel it would be important for everyone to know.

When yvt feel it is ready.
But then, I think it will be a big patch, here's a small sneak peak, in case you are too lazy to read the commit

Fixed a bug that respawned players moves quickly for a moment 
r_fogShadow is enabled when Direct Light is set to Ultra, not High 
Fixed a bug that the screen becomes red 
DoF bug fix (Depth of Field)
Improved sparse shadow maps efficiency 
Blur vignette fix 
Fixed bug in screen shot feature 
Added AngelScript add-on 
Aspect ratio is now correct while aiming down the sight 
Hold aiming
Field of view is now customizable (In 0.0.8b it is 60, the new version will be 68 in default)
Getting inside a block is no more possible to see hidden tunnels in the ground

When I click a server, the "connect" acts as if I haven't clicked any servers yet. And double clicking doesn't work either. Do I just have to wait?

FINALLY, Ive been needing a longer FoV, I'm also happy for Hold aiming, but I still want tracers bad...

So aiming problems should be gone in next update? If so awesome Green_Happy3
What is hold aiming? Does it mean you have to keep sight by yourself in one spot?

When I try to connect to a server, it just freezes on the loading screen and stops responding. I have an i5 and intel HD graphics 3000 and it says my video card supports all required OpenGL extensions/features. What can I do? The screenshots look so awesome Blue_NotHappy

Hey dude, thanks for OpenSpades, it got me back into AoS! I mean really, I didn't touch the game since the whole Jagex thing tho I do have 1.0 I don't play it as often and you also got me back into modding! Please check my mod topic and I was gonna ask, can I say that I'm accepting donations which will go for OpenSpades on my mod topic or not? I really like it and I hope to see it in it's final form and I believe that it's better than the Jagex version and is what 1.0 should of been.

Edit: I found some bugs, one is that every time I die my torso or body is on the opposite side, the dead kv6 file is correct you can even check it. Another is when in the steam overlay (shift + tab) the game's shooting doesn't respond. The final is that I randomly disconnect.

I'm pretty sure by holding aiming, it means you have the option, that you don't have to keep down the hold button to aim, but instead when you click it it just keep aiming until you click the aim button again.

Wow i'm the exact same, haven't really played AOS since Jagex turned it into a piece of crap, but I saw OpenSpades and I'm like, THIS IS BADASS :D So now I play again,
on another note, if your in a match and you open the chat and are halfway through typing something and the game ends and there's a new map/and the map reloads, your in the weapon/team select screen you can keep typing and when you try to post it you will glitch out of the game for something along the lines of "player #(number) not found". And it glitches the server and there's usually a duplicate of you, but not always.

VERY IMPORTANT EDIT: I also think you are right AND wrong, I think that the torso is flipped when your ALIVE, I can see their flipped but when I edit the crouched torso and the person crouches, it switches to the right side, which their obviously not doing limbo so I know its the right side.

AN EVEN MORE IMPORTANT EDIT: You were right, it does flip when u die xD

Yeah, I agree, and I do believe that it will be a much, much better version of Jagex's one plus it will be free and it will be able to connect to the old servers which is great! So that is why I've decided to make some sort of donating, the problem, I don't have the money for it so I thought that I'd post a link to my paypal so that people who want to can donate and afterwards I can re-donate it to the developer/s but I know I gotta ask for permission first. Regarding your edits on the bugs, idk what the hell is wrong with the files but anyways the models look awesome and I hope they fix the bugs but aside from that the game is badass. So anyways, add me in Steam or in xfire if you wanna game sometimes, it'd be awesome to play with someone from the forums.

Yeah, I know it looks that way, lol, no seriously I do, so that's why I wanted confirmation on this topic, besides, I'm not making people do this, I'll just put in on the bottom if anybody bothers with it and I really will send to whoever the dev/s is/are because I enjoy the game and I don't need any money but neither do I have extra to donate so you can say that in a sense I'm donating my free time to mod for a donation for something that I trully believe will be better than Jagex's payed version of the game which is total bullcrap and dying tbh.
