My biggest gripe with .76 is the fact that the rifle has the lowest fire rate of all the guns, and I kind of wish for that to be changed slightly, and I would say we have a more well rounded game. I mean, seriously, we have people making complete remakes of the game while just making our own community built version would be so much easier. Just a little food for thought, that's all.

Because of legal problems. Jagex will probably find a reason to kill BnS if we try and update the old Ace of Spades by ourselves.
That's good, IMO. It was even slower in a previous RC, and I personally liked that, gave the rifle more of a bolt-action WWI feel, but this RoF now is good for me.
why are you even reading this

Another thing to note is that you can run both versions of the game by downloading the installers and then installing them through the launcher. Back on topic, 0.76 isn't as big of a change as you might think. It,s mainly just a weapon tuning update.
Well there is a problem with using the launcher because some computers cannot download it. I tried to, and my Norton Security Program shot it down instantly, saying it has no reputation. Yes, I know it probably is not malicious, but any security programs don't trust it, so it won't risk it.

Weird, the .76 launcher doesn't work for me at all. I mean my security programs don't block it, but It just doesn't load for shit. It's just blank

Because it only supports 0.75 (not quite accurately enough though) right now. I *think* I suggested to yvt that he fork pysnip and make a different version altogether, just so 0.76 doesn't get the shit hacked out of it. But once that's done (and once the rifle is returned to its true state of "actually able to hit shit"), then that would be good to move to.

Admittedly its harder, but I think OpenSpades w/ 0.76 support + better anti-cheat would be better. If I am not playing on a 0.75/0.76 server, I rather use Iceball than OpenSpades. OpenSpades's only current advantage is it works with unmodified pysnip servers.

Well I don't want to try and download another security program into my computer; parents would not like me doing that. I say we should go ahead and start the slow switch to .76 to change the subject.

I find limitations fun. Youre talking to the dude that only uses the rainblower and backburner despite the degreaser being the best flamethrower in tf2. I only use a shotgun with a sniper scope/slug rounds in BF3 despite it being pretty bad. Being able to see someone and then one hit them without any thought put into it has no joy in it. Shotgun pretty much requires me to think out my moves because one bad step causes me to die. I have to actually dig/build to get kills because its pretty much the hyperbole that people make the rifle out to be. It cant hit anything reliably even at close range due to its nature.
Seriously I cant understand how anyone can complain about weapon balance and then cry when rifle gets so much as touched. I remember the first release of .76 made the rifle slower and have a lower ammo/mag count. It didnt do much to actually address any issues when it was still a OSOK weapon, but it apparently ruined the weapon despite restoring a good portion of its accuracy. Its fucking ridiculous.

I really wasn't worried about the RoF + ammo reduction. I was just glad that my rifle could hit shit.

I hate 0.76 here's why
--Shitty Chat and killfeed text
--I don't like the 3Dness of things like icons and text
--I have been playing 0.75 for a year and 0.76 is like another game
--Scopes and ironsights made for 0.75 suck on 0.76
GO BACK TO 0.58!!!!!!!!

I can't understand how anyone could complain about the rifle in 0.76. I didn't realize how inaccurate the rifle was in 0.75 at a distance until I started playing the newer version. I just put it off as me not playing in a while.

Honestly, I kind of think we need to completely abandon 0.75 for awhile. I know that people have created plugins for 0.75(and will probably continue them), but we have to realize how broken 0.75 is now. Like I said, there's a site giving out directions to hack 0.75, so why should we continue the support?
I doubt many people are going to complain about it. It's too easy to hack on 0.75. It's too easy to ban evade sometimes.
I used to be able to tolerate the script kiddies hacking the balls out of this game, but it's just very tiring and I pretty sure some of the staff members of the GOOD servers are in more distress than I am. It's just very frustrating to play on 0.75 and I'm very sick of playing hallway on 0.76 due to it having the most players in the server list.
Although the day Modloader is available for 0.76 is the day I uninstall 0.75 from my computer.

I quit adminning 0.75 in protest. Soon after, Minit Assault was moved to 0.76. Testdrive has yet to follow, so don't expect me to do any adminwork there (I don't even know what the hell happens on that server these days). Those are Minit's two servers at the moment.
I tend to join on occasion to scream at a bunch of NO KILLs. But of course...

...0.76 consists mostly of noobs. Also, why aren't we running a gen server on 0.76? That should get some of the older folk moving there.
Pysnip fork owners: Make the default branch protocol076, and if you're hosting Windows builds, make 0.76 Windows builds.
Also, for the last fucking time,
promote 0.76 as the recommended version!
