@pizzahut were a serious clan but i cant come to matches due to my behavior on mumble (that i severely regret) and my pc has some weird mouse lag and it wont do .76 without lag. so thats my excuse for not comeing (before the lag started i would regularly get kicked from servers for "aimbotting"(and no i dont hack))

Jdrew, when you get a chance please go on IRC and discuss a new match date with Eddie. It'd be MUCH appreciated.

Hmmm, the server works for me and my brother perfectly fine (on the same network though). I followed the tutorial for how to do it under same network, but then I did the tutorial for anyone, and finished it. I didn't test it with anyone yet. I'm thinking hat you might have tried to go on teh server when I didn't have the server.exe open.

Don't mean to brag or nothing but I port forwarded my router so we now have our own server, just throwing that out there..

You port forwarded your ROUTER?! Do you realize that anyone who connects to the server can get files off of your computer (and for that matter add files)? I don't have first-hand experience with that, but everywhere I've looked says port forwarding makes you at risk for hacking. So yeah. Blue_Pistol Green_Pistol2

Yes, but it's the same chance as someone who works at Google hacking you because they have your ip.

New to the clan? Yes. New to life? No. New to AoS? No.

If thats the case then you would have known that you have to port forward in order to have other players connect to the server.

Nobody can get files THAT easily off your computer. If you only forward one port, you're fine, but you're still at some kind of low risk of any type of exploit that the hacker knows that can be used to execute code on your computer. (Fortunately, if you update your computer regularly, these security exploits are fixed within hours of their discovery.) However, if you can't or don't know how to forward ports correctly, you would probably forward ALL possible ports to your computer and put yourself at high risk. That's why there's something called a firewall Blue_Wink1.

If you run FTP, a web server, or some kind of WebDAV server, then yes, that is the only way someone could get files off the 'puter. I have some limited ports opened on my computer through my router, but they are just "a few" and will be closed once I get my server, which is where I'll run all of my dedicated servers.

Google can't hack you. Except if you're running Chrome or anything Google-related, or you use their DNS servers, in which case you would really want to switch to OpenDNS.
