There is a thing I want to add. Currently there is a difference between forumers and ingame community members. The ingame community members clearly are not interested in moving to 0.76 and would rather stay in 0.75 as they have friends there and also it's fun. The thing about 0.76. Is that it's really competitive And people don't like that which kinda isn't what the aos community is about. I think we allow both versions to co exist as a forced update is pretty unfair to players who can quit. There is a difference between how the ingame community members are like and how forumers are like. We've made it this far no need for a forced revolution people will slowly decide where to go rather than being forced like a dictatorship. Also the people who voted mainly are people who only check the forums. Also grease no need to be racist and we need to be more democratic rather than a handful of people making decisions of there own accord. Also people still play 0.75 and 0.76 is mainly used for league we should have 0.76 for competitive gameplay while 0.75 for casual which most people are as they have more important priorities in real life to worry about.

Stop. Talking. Now. You are spewing bullshit on something you really don't know about.

0.76 currently consists of people who take this game seriously enough to not use 0.75 (the default version), which might give you the illusion that it's strictly for more competitive types. But taking a game seriously does not mean that you are competitive.

Also, being competitive is one way to have fun. They are not mutually exclusive. I would even claim that being competitive is a subset of having fun.

1. forget how to speak English on servers where you MUST SPEAK ENGLISH BECAUSE IT'S IMPORTANT FOR COMMUNICATION

No need for inaction either. I do feel that 0.75 is a steaming pile of horseshit and that's why I'd like it to be dropped entirely, and it currently holds the majority vote (40 (59%) -> 25 share (37%) -> 3 back to 0.75 (4%)). I have a feeling that if the B&S admins actually listen to us and take action on it, they will promote 0.76 as the default and have the 0.75 server list up as a secondary non-mainstream option... which is much better than the severely-decayed-and-still-rotting state we're in right now.

My advice? If you care enough about this game and the direction this game is being taken (read: not very far, I wrote Iceball for a reason and that is because AoS itself is no longer being properly developed, and to continue such development is legally risky), then register on the forums.

Anyone can vote as long as they're not banned from the forums. From my understanding, the only accounts/IPs that are banned are spambots.

Anyhow, if we were to be strictly democratic, we would be dumping 0.75 according to the current result of this poll.

Don't say "be democratic" when you actually mean "agree with me". They're two completely different things, because the majority of people who actually care does NOT agree with you.

0.75 sucks, and I believe we need to dump it.

In fact, I believe we need to drop the non-rifle weapons too, because otherwise it becomes a fucking annoying game. There are people who will side with this belief, but I do admit it's a bit extreme and won't happen, especially amongst many of the server hosts. (/togglesmg was removed from most Minit servers after a while as we had a tendency to disable the SMG while we were playing.)

0.75 will probably never be dumped, but I feel that 0.76 needs to be promoted in favour of 0.75 to prevent this game from outright rotting.

Most people play .75 because that is where most servers are.
Most servers use .75 because that is where most players are.

How hard is it to understand this? And every single update has been forced under the commands of Ben Aksoy, why should this be any different?

I honestly think the move is very necessary seeing it's an opportunity to enjoy the game without hacking at the moment. The way I see it, the more people stall the migration, the more time someone has to make and release a hack for 0.76 to the public.

I mean there already is a website dedicated to hacking/ban evading on 0.75, so why should we should keep 0.75 up?

I really like 0.76, but that version has less players so I end up going on 0.75. Now because of the major changes between .75 and .76, skills change a lot. From my experience, this happens to me a lot. If I'm good at 0.76, I suck on 0.75. If I'm used to 0.75, I'm bad on 0.76. I don't see why we should continue supporting a broken version of the game when the newer one is more balanced.

Question, I looked at the .76 servers and they always seem empty. Can you run both versions at the same time (guessing install to a different folder).

Also, from what I read there are no hacks for .76, does that mean that there are not an over abundance of accusations either? Getting tired already and only been back for a week.

Lastly, on a different note, my home computer keyboard does not have a number 2 key. I tried using the numpad 2 but it will not switch to blocks. I did not see anything in the controls.ini to remap this key. Is there a way to do it?

You can try to use the mouse wheel to change for it but it can get a little annoying at times if your mouse is noisy.

There's hardly any votekicks, really. Some are for grief, which DOES happen, but isn't as rampant as in 0.75. I've never seen anyone votekick on 0.76 for hacking.

A few people have been falsely accused of hacking and vk'd in 76. There are compelling reasons to switch outright to 76 but the lack of cheats isnt one. Once it becomes the primary version everyone plays it will have cheats. Easy to google first result cheats.

As far as promoting 76 better, we have the single server list thingy made but we have some pbpbb theme issues that is mucking up the look.

Ultimately it doesnt matter because rifle has and always will be the best weapon and the only one really worth using. Removing the other weapons is pretty much like washing a childs chalk drawing off the chalkboard, it makes it less colorful but its still overall black. That said, I only find playing with the shotgun fun and would have even less incentive to play the game without it.
