Why wont it work

So I have installed Ace of Spades successfully and when ever I click on a server to join it it joins the server, but when I press 1 2 or 3 to join a team or spectate nothing happens. I just wanna no how to fix plz.

Are you using a stationary computer? It might have something to do with the type of keyboard, and how programs interact with it.
