I think it was developed just after WWII, but was quickly replaced by the Kalashnikov family.

Yeah, the gun was useful as a negociating tool with smaller countries. They'd ally with the Soviet Union and the USSR would give them shitloads and shitloads of SKSs, or allow them to make a copy of it freely.

Eg Vietnam. We got shit load of free SKS :D

I'm loving dat type 99. Well anyway, I'm noticing a distinct lack of shotguns, so a trench gun or DB would be nice.
