I Found an OpenGL version of pre-1.0 Ace of Spades!

The commercial [Steam] version of Ace of Spades, remade by Jagex.
Incompatible with AoS Classic.

I found this video on Youtube.

I wonder what happened to it.
It seemed so PERFECT, no classes, and I think it should still work on granma's rig.

Which, thankfully, wasn't put into the main version in my opinion.
The helicopter was a kind of extended test with dynamic entities iirc, was not meant to be implemented into the final game.

and then mat would get sued for leaking Confidential Information.

Ahahaha... no. I remembered he said that it didn't work well on a GMA945 or whatever it was, and declared that to be the bare minimum spec.

Step 1: Wait for jagex to pull the plug.
Step 2: Beg andrew gower for permission to use that version.
Step 3: Play iceball instead, because 1.0 will have a slow death.

Andrew Gower is one of the founders of Jagex, but he's long since left the company, which is part of the reason Jagex has went waaaaayy downhill.

Yeah I am aware of him, but I'm just getting a good vibe from andrew gower. And he's probably less busy. I don't really know who has the most power in the company, but I'm guessing it doesn't matter much seeing as how much respect Andrew probably has.

Yeah, my old piece of shit computer couldnt even launch it because it lacked the necessary shaders. It was definitely more...graphically demanding, which disappointed me as that was one of the main draws of the original AoS.
