We just need a serverlist now and the ball should start rolling.
I'm hoping the competition between servers will lead to some great mods being created. Blue_BigSmile
When there is a serverlist I will be playing on it more often, the game is doing great all it needs is a serverlist.

I'm thinking a page for itself, where you click one of those tabs. Either creating a new one, or replacing the "modding" one which doesn't seem too useful, maybe putting that one under "community".

Anyway, clicking it could just give you a short description of what it is, and a serverlist below. Just to tell the players this is some very early stuff.

Hey guys, we have a modding API.

Image

Feel free to make some mods! See pkg/iceball/snowtest/ for a rather old and not exactly recommended example.
There is also a Modding section on the forums: http://iceballga.me/forumdisplay.php?fid=5

It is similar to the Ace of Spades 1.0 classic game mode. But nice.

It's a mod in the sense of a mod.

AoS "modders" actually make skins.

Apart from the fact that it runs OK on a GMA (set the fog in clsave/pub/user.json to 80 and set gl_vbo in clsave/config.json to false!) and you can actually host it yourself + modify the shit out of it, yes.

I like the background noise in the tutorial, its catchy though the tutorial is pretty much useless for new people

pkg/iceball/halp/gm-rollb-munch.it
download schismtracker, open it up in that, hit F5 to play, F8 to stop, F1 for help
enjoy

VLC will play it OK but it won't loop

And btw, wouldn't it be time to remove the idiot-filter now? If we're going to try to make this popular, then I think you'll be more bothered with people asking how to play, than the actual players ingame.

And what's up with the iceball forum permissions? I can't make any replies on the news forum, but rakiru can. Does he have a high rank or something?

The idiot filter is disabled by default (well, kick_on_join checking is).

As for the permissions, only admins can post to the news section.

It already is. You just have to build it yourself.

I think the speed should really be decreased as right now you are super fast it feels like even with the gun in hand

Do you mean "with the shovel in hand"? As it is the shovel that makes you faster?
And I agree that it goes a bit too fast, especially when you're walking uphill.

Any requests for specific really useful scripts to be rewritten?

Well, the most important one would be the gamemodes I think. Like last stand, babel, push. Not that it needs to be scripts though, could work great as a part of the main game.

And the best thing of all would be if the server owner could easily change between gamemodes, that was something we couldn't do on .75. Multiple modders attempted, but failed.

moba would be cool in IceBall since we could really configure everything like where the control points are, powers, gold, jungles, minions, etc

Targeting device. Basically: Press ALT when looking near/at an enemy and it displays a red reticle (Plus, an arrow, or something) for 3-5 seconds where that player was. It displays for your entire team, just not the enemy team. This would help communicate faster if you spot someone with the intel, or someone that is a threat. OR someone you just want dead. Could help team-mates that are behind a wall and need to know if someone is coming to the wall. To stop spamming of the alt: Limited amount of times you can press it then you have to wait for a 10 second cool-down. For example: 5 alt presses per 15 seconds.

Edit: That could work as a script right? I was righting this down as something to be used as a script.
