So I recently found out about the Free Bundle. It's basically like the Humble Bundle but supporting free indie games. Each bundle has from 40.000 to 300.000 downloads and there are games similar to AoS in some ways (Cube 2: Sauerbraten is a free FPS which hasn't been updated in around a year, yet it's there).
Well, my idea is to get BnS launcher / AoS classic in the next bundles.
You can (and should) contribute: Send an e-mail to tips@cabrerabrothers.com linking them to the BnS homepage, suggesting AoS and explaining a tad why do you want AoS classic to be there. It takes a minute.
Our situation may be different to the other games' in the previous bundles (AoS beta doesn't really have an official active developer), but maybe if we explain how we were fucked up by a large company they'll help us out and publish BnS in the next bundle, therefore getting us a new wave of community members and players. :)
I guess you could also spam his Twitter account but yeah, the mails are more important.
Anyone supports this idea?

I do fully support this idea, but we need someone with high social/advertising skills.

Well, you just need to send suggestions to the e-mail account I posted above, nothing hard. It doesn't make a difference whether you are a Nobel prize winner or an autistic monkey, everything helps.
Also, I guess BnS admins could have a more serious conversation with the guys who made this by contacting this Twitter account: https://twitter.com/doncabrera

Seems like a good idea. I'll send them an email when I get on my computer
.... I'll try to get some USAB members also!

just don't send them any emails until the launcher is done. Seriously, it'll be a great idea if the launcher features downloads directly from it, instead of players having to find guides on how to install.

I too would like to see improved launcher, or even open-source remake, and THEN huge marketing push.

I think this an awesome idea, and I agree with TB it would be nice if the launcher were a little more intuitive to use before we had it featured.

I have used the free indie bundle since it was made last year, I like the games made and feel that it would be nice for build and shoot to be on it.

Because the latter will most likely be "finished" in a long time, while the launcher just needs some tweaking and improvements. Also, the more players AoS beta has, the more players Iceball/POWERTHIRST will have.Sonarpulse wrote:I too would like to see improved launcher, or even open-source remake, and THEN huge marketing push.Yeah, I would be interested in seeing how things like POWERTHIRST pans out before any kind of marketing.
I guess we could wait for the launcher to be improved before trying to promote it. What's the ETA?
