I'm probably going to buy it to play with my friends, but I feel like I'm gonna end up getting more involved here than the Jagex version of the game.

I think it's too late to say this but:
Don't buy this garbage. I played it and it's crap, honestly, voxlap version is 1000000000000000x times better. I thought it will be fun too but after playing it i changed my mind.

And i know why they don't give some kinda demo version. Cuz probably noone would buy. Yes it sucks that much.

I really want to ask Jagex this question; why fix something that isn't broken?

I mean, the game was already good. All they need to do, or rather all someone has to do is balance fixes, and a better hacker-prevention system and BAM the game is 1.0 done, ready for release. No, instead they are seemingly making a new game completely.
Yeah, your totally right. I was hoping for that new RPG/MG that the old Mat was going to introduce.. But they added it in 1.0 and IT SUCKS!

I bought 1.0 sadly, I was suckered into it by seeing the steam trailer. I doubt the trailer was even of real gameplay. Laggily screwed up game with terribly failed-up FPSness. Nothing to do with aiming, building is stupid, breaking is SO easy its not funny, Classes are stupid and the jetpacks.. erk.

I've heard lots of people say that Jagex's updates seem to mess up their games. example: Runescape. It was better in 2006 xD. in many update forums on a few of Jagex's games I've seen the Fix something that isn't broken term used quite often. They 'overengineer' their games in my opinion, and its sad really, try and make a complicated game, gets to complex and gets ruined. I'm dissapointed, I WAS GONNA BUY SOME SOFTDRINK WITH THAT $10!!!!!! Now I'm broke :o
