Can you play in any server if you use mods from the mod list from Build and Shoot? Or do you have to play on a mod server?

You can use mods (scopes, weapon mods, sound mods, player mods, tent mods, block mods, texture mods, etc) but not hacks (aimbot, esp, rapid spade, radar, etc)

Mods are client side modifications of the game files, and you can play on any server using them.
Only you can see the mods you created.

If you're thinking in terms of the pathetic definition the AoS community has for the word "mod", which is technically a "skin", provided the models are not oversized, yes.
If you're thinking in terms of the definition the Minecraft community use, and what I prefer to use (e.g. modloader, which allows you to load skins on the fly), yes.
Well, you said "any server". You can play in any normal server. There is a mod (read: Minecraft community definition) I have been working on called "0.75 Powerthirst Edition" to extend Ace of Spades, and as such, with a vanilla client, you can ONLY connect to normal servers that you aren't banned from - you CANNOT connect to a Powerthirst server. On the contrary, the Powerthirst client CAN connect to a normal server, although it is essentially limited to what the normal client supports in this case.
