EDIT: I would recommend Free Basic or batch for beginners or if you really want to make a 2d plaformer that bad.. use Lua with love2D engine

Do NOT learn batch as your first programming language. The only thing that's useful for is automating windows commands, so unless you do a lot of that, it's fairly useless, and will also teach you bad habits. Some form of BASIC wouldn't be bad, but they're not very practical for any real world applications, so you'd end up transferring to another language afterwards anyway.

Batch is awesome to make little scripts(I automate a lot of windows commands , Mostly AoS Jazz)
Yea Batch isn't good for first language, I learned Python first but i don't like it.

Go for Python. It's pretty easy to learn and you can actually do some cool stuff with it. It also works on just about everything. I'm not the best person to ask which version to start with but from what I've seen most people seem to use 2.7.x.
