First off, yes I'm doing this.
okay, with that out of the way, Let's journey onward!
The CoD franchise as a whole has gotten alot of hate. There are good reasons. Such as spawning a (generally) god-awful community, creating bad habits within the FPS genre of games, and recycling a formula that should've seen innovated and improved upon. My hate mainly comes in the form of the way their multiplier mechanics function. First, the counter-play of the mechanics seems to be extremely lacking. What's counter-play? It's, in a shellnut, the way mechanics work for multiplayer games for both the user and the receiver. In CoD they have killstreaks, one of the most popular, and well known, Is the air strike. This is where a player with enough kills will be able to call in missiles and such to strike from the sky. The counter-play for this is pretty bad. The user can instantly kill any player anywhere on the map. The player who gets killed could not have predicted it, stopped it, or countered it without specific 'perks'. This, is not good counter-play, A mechanic in the game should give the user creative and fun options to use it and the receiver fun and creative ways to counter it. To counter an air strike in CoD it requires that player it stunt his/her options instead of being able to use skill and critical thinking to stop the said air strike. Next, skill in CoD doesn't come from muscle memory, aim, or skillful movement but, from the ability to remember spawn points and hiding spots on maps and being able to see the other person first. The aiming in CoD is best left to the game's lack of ability to punish people who spray their weapon or only aim for the body instead of bursting and patience in aiming. I mean, why take the time to burst fire your shots or aim when a fire fight is won by how many bullets you can shoot first. Some of the multiplayer's fault can also be attributed to the way regenerating health is done in CoD. Regening health can be used well. Like in battlefield your health regens very slowly unless you are out of combat and near a health pack. CoD deals with it very differently. The Regenerating health in CoD goes up very quickly and makes the game have a very shaking pacing, especially when someone can spray a guy to near death, all he has to do is hide in a corner in a player's 70 fov blind spot and wait for them to come by first or their health to regenerate in a few seconds.

So... that's my 2 cents on he matter. Tell me wat you think.

yeah, killstreaks are pretty dumb. the airstrike in blop 2 is also pretty good because it's instant, in the other games there was a time you were given to hide from it, so it wasn't really that good and was pretty bad. the idea of getting more kills after already doing well is pretty stupid already. I also agree with you on the aiming in a few ways, but I think a bigger problem is giving the guns giant magazines and relatively good damage. they're still pretty fun and well made in a few areas, but I think it's mainly smaller things that pull them down

Personally I like the cod series, though when I was playing mw2 the most annoying thing was killstreaks, if they brought the killstreaks back like cod4 I would really love mw2-mw3 etc.

Conduit always goes mega-fanboy on CoD games. I can practically hear him salivating over the mic on Battlefield 3 when he talks about his killstreaks.

Why the hell did you even play Ace of Spades if you wanted a cawadoody style of gameplay?

Good to see that I can rely on you all to devolve into the general hate bandwagon when it comes to CoD. Surprised the unlocking mechanics havent been mentioned yet. This combined with killstreaks only serve to further separate the skilled from the unskilled, the new from the old, making it somewhat more frustrating to get into for newer players. Not to mention making it harder to counter certain weapons/tactics/etc.

Not trying to be a cod fanboy here, but cod4 and mw2 is easy to level up(the only ones I play currently). Mainly because cod4 you level up fast and the first assault rifle you unlock is the Ak-47 which is pretty beast in the game, and the reason why mw2 is easy because it takes like 3 bullets to kill someone, that's the main reason why I play cod4 more, but both games can be pretty fun except that stupid matchmaking shit where they just put you in a random game on mw2.

Another point: Parents are actually stupid enough to let their kids play an M rated game.
Action gaming DOES improve your eyesight if you play video games occasionally, but they treat it like daycare!

To be fair, that doesn't always end up poorly, I played Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas and Halo when I was like 9, and I am/was nothing like those kids ;_;
