I think, during the regular league, the teams playing each game should be either "home" or "away". The "home" team then gets to pick the map for that match. Since each team plays all the others twice, one game will be as a "home" team, and the other will be as an "away" team.

This means each team could possibly have a map that they're really good at and comfortable with to use as their "home" map, but can test how well they can play when they're on another team's "home" map.

Just an idea.

For the first season we should vote on the seeds but also look at the clan's previous clan matches.

I feel when it comes to maps, each tier should have a different map (first 8 play on one map, the remaining 4 on another, and the final 2 once again on another one)

Why? We can have each team fight each other and have the best teams move on to the championship. No need for a popularity contest

Yea we can do something like that. we could take the 3 most played maps from the regular season and use them for the championship.

I like that, I think it is fair.

Should the maps be ClassicGen, or prepicked maps? You stated before Dan that maps will be symmetrical and fair. Shouldn't the maps be ClassicGen so there is no knowledge of the map before the match?

We could do that one match as green and one as blue

I think to make things fair only some of the league should be actual clans.

I thought of this last night on mumble, but thought I would post it to add to the discussion, but I thought it would be fun to have our new custom user groups also in the mix as teams within the tournament. So Artist VS Moderators, Admin VS News Team, Etc. This would be some fun challenges, and would also open up the tournament for those that may not be in a clan or affiliated with a team.

Not sure on the logistics of this, but I was also thinking for the larger opt-in groups, "Blue Master Race", "Green Master Race", and etc, could have a random group of 6 selected to play the tournament as a wildcard factor in the ladder.

That depends on how the teams were picked. I for one know that RyanK and I are both members of the News Team and {B5D}. Unless of course, you mean have a separate league for them where they do not play the clans.

Yea, I think that'd be cool. As you said, people who weren't in clans could still do this.

So if we do classic gen and each team plays the other teams twice, one game as blue and one game as green. We are going to want a newly generator map for the second game, right? That way the teams dont have prior knowledge to the map.

I am also going to test out match.py and if it works, I will be starting season one very soon. So start thinking about your teams.

3-man and 5-man teams on classic gen..?
Two rounds of it is fair, sure - but with that size it might be an odd game.

We need more smaller maps really.. Isle of war has been used a lot, but it's good for that kind of game.

yeah classicgen is really really big. Unless someone creates a mini-version of it or something.

I think we should do as tGM suggested. Still have 3 man teams but using smaller maps.
Anyway:
Team Name: Beta-5 Division
Players:
-STRIKE-81
-Vengeance(RyanK)
-...Depends on the time of the match...

Just trying to go with what is easiest to get season 1 started. I would like a handful of symmetric maps, but classicgen is easier.
