To my knowledge of software rights, in order to really be considered a "new game", you actually have to write everything from scratch. Simply copying/modifying parts from previous versions is insufficient and still can be considered copyright infringement.

There's nothing illegal about Build and Shoot.
It is an alternative community centred around the voxlap "prototype" editions of AoS, which Jagex said that people were 'free to continue playing'. B&S aims to provide for the community that want to continue playing it.

Iirc, Ben wanted to buy AoS back from Jagex. Jagex refused.

There is not a lot I can really say to what you have added. It seems that you don't like what we are doing and that is fine, however there is nothing in your post which resembles a question for me to answer. We have made our position known and the reasons why and disseminated this information in a variety of ways. However, it boils down to the fact we want ensure good quality across all the servers that players play on. The only way we can do this is if we control them all.

On this issue the only answer I can give which will placate some players is that we are going to allow players to host their own servers. However, that is not going to happen and it would be really unfair to lie to you like that. So, I'll open the same offer to you as I did to Dom, if you have any other questions please ask them. As there is nowhere for this discussion to go, I think I will lock this thread.
