Sometimes the initdirectdraw error shows up because of the resoulution the game is set to... you could try going to the folder the game is installed in, and open up config.ini and change xres and yres to 800 and 600...

Also, it often depends on your graphics card, and the version of DirectX.

This version of the game doesnt use your video card. Have you tried playing windowed?

Go into your Ace of Spades folder and open your config file. Set windowed=1
