You are not even using a router to link the laptops together? Just point to point? If so, you need a crossover Ethernet cable.

Alternatively, you could just create a wireless ad-hoc network.

I'm interested in doing it using a wireless network. How can I do it? Can you give some links to that matter?

You should be able to create an "ad-hoc network" on Windows 7/8/9/10/11. It will come up as a regular Wi-Fi network on other laptops but you will not have network connectivity, unless you've set your Ethernet adapter to share the connection. After you've created, use ipconfig/all on the command prompt to get your IP address in the ad-hoc network. No port forwarding is required (or can be done).
