Not sure what I'm doing wrong and I've tried a couple guides but none worked.

I've downloaded the 0.75 server zip, extracted it, port forwarded 32887 but when I run run.bat it takes awhile but says:

Not sure what the problem is. Running run.exe does nothing, it seems to load but the screen remains blank and then it closes itself. So anyway, I assume I'm not doing something right. Can someone who has successfully gotten a server running and displayed on the server list tell me what all they did?

Like am I supposed to download anything else other than the server zip? Do I need to extract the zip in a certain place? This is also not the first time I've encountered this problem, I've tried this multiple times all of which failed to work.

Trying to connect via the localhost link on the server list page says it failed to connect to the server. I haven't changed any of the settings in the config.txt, but I did the very first time I downloaded the zip but it didn't work then so I deleted it.

The advantage of winsock error codes is that you can look them up so well. Since it seems to be easier for most people to read direct posts than exactly the same thing from a log, here's the problem: Your network system blocks the creation of a server. A few reasons spontaneously coming to my mind are the firewall, router problems (need to forward your server port), no admin rights, something in this direction it must be.

Figured out the problem, it was a firewall that was installed on this computer. (Not Windows Firewall)

I had the thing completely turned off and made an exception on Windows Firewall but it still didn't work. Started up the other one and boom, got a message saying it's blocking it. So despite being completely off, it was still blocking the server. But I made an exception for it, and my server was on the list, I was able to connect to it via localhost so all is good! :)
