Also, normal means something like usual, and hallway and arena just started being popular, so there must have been something normal during these 2-3 years before this happened, or not?
And you see it as normal if you can't build in AoS?

It's also an open source sandbox game where people can do as they wish. If you don't like the maps or modes on the servers, make your own. Otherwise quit wasting everyone's time.

Otherwise quit wasting everyone's time.If you like the maps and modes, why don't you play CS and CoD then? They're much more fun than a fucked up AoS. It's no sandbox if you /togglebuild via script and reduce the game to camping and being camped btw. And not everybody can do as they wish, because other servers are all empty; the players who could fill them are all distracted by arena and hallway. I hate to repeat stuff.

Two things,
1. AoS takes almost no processing power to run. CS and Cod take tremendous amounts.
2. AoS is free. CS and CoD are not.
Besides, if someone is getting enjoyment out of playing a different game mode than you'd like, let them.
Also, it is a sandbox because you can play however you want. If that means giving yourself restrictions, so be it.
If the servers are empty, do something to fox that other than bitch on forums. And if it doesn't work, let it go. You're in the minority here.

Vezok wrote:Two things,So these kids need a free CS and CoD fake that runs on crappy PCs. I think there is such a game, considering how mainstream these games became. See, the corresponding maps/modes were just made as alternatives to bring more diversity into AoS, like FFA or kraken. Nobody even thought that they might take over the servers. If their creators could have predicted this, they probably would have changed some things.

But sometimes it really does seem like the old player base fully left AoS and there's only the CS/CoD kids left, yeah.
PS, I actually do something :P

Sandbox means doing whatever you want to do with the given materials. If you want to restrict yourself that is fully within the boundaries of the game, one might even say that it is exactly what makes a sandbox game a sandbox.
These gamemodes also didn't "take over" the servers, they simply made it possible to have more servers with a higher diversity. Who knows what might have happened if these gamodes that you so deeply seem to despise wouldn't exist, who knows what might happen if they were removed now.
It seems you're just angry at people for having fun in a way that you don't like and now you want take away their joy.

As I said, they made other players leave, which led to what we have now. If you give freedom to one group, the other will leave, but now, the old players won't come back anymore. These players now can't really play anything AoS-like, but the CS/CoD kids have lots of alternatives.

It's been all this time and you idiots are still getting mad about the same shit. Wow.
There is no "right way" to play AoS, nothing you say changes this fact. The game is built on customization. If you're upset that people have fun in a way you don't like, then organize some event, start a server, do something more proactive than whining on the forums about how the other people's fun is ruining yours.

Now, after Ben left, there's indeed no way of playing anymore that could be forced. But the current situation is certainly a lot different than how it was just when .75 was released, at the time when Ben could more or less do what he wanted. And you should stop claiming that no one tries to change it.
