I think the best is to make MGs like mortars, standing there from the beginning on, with the option to carry them. Not sure if I will add pistols at all, but I'm not hurrying with them.

I have a problem!

The game is completely transparent.

Did previous versions run fine? I switched something inside the code that creates the window which makes VXW a bit faster. Also, try fullscreen with 800x600.

PS: All update to 0.0.0.2 . Stationary HMGs will be enabled after Shaz updates the server. Until then, you can still connect with the client update.

Shaz has updated the server now, HMGs are enabled. You can't move them yet because I haven't figured out how exactly one should move HMGs, but I placed them (and mortars) to convenient places, so that shouldn't be much trouble. You can equip/unequip HMGs by sprinting and sneaking at the same time. Ammo is unlimited. I'm open for any ideas on HMG improvements.

Why not a cool-off time for the HMG to prevent someone in a fortunate position with infinite ammo killing an unfair number of players?

If you had used the HMG, you would have seen that we don't need that. Pls only suggest things if you have noticed that VXW lacks them while playing.

I read all the thread, but the game has a massive black bar across the screen for me, and so I can't test it intensively.

Looks v.good though- I would only add that the "sway-on-move" (whats the right name??) seems a bit huge to me.

You get black bars in the screen if you set the resolution too high. VXW supports resolutions up to 4:3 HD (1280x800).

Are you referring to the screen shaking a bit when sprinting? I noticed it is kind of distracting and that looks like enough of a nerf to me. Better than a stamina bar, isn't it?

I see, OK. Could it be 16:9 at some point in time?

As to the sway, its when I move where I look, everything tilts to one side and back again like a boat in a lake? (can't think of the description, it it drunken camera??)

That is meant to be for accuracy reasons. Classic aos before 0.50 had it. It was awesome

The 16:9 version of HD is 1280x720, so yeah :p

Do you sprint/climb/fall down blocks while doing that or does that happen if normally walking straight? If yes and you aren't moving your camera, that might be rendering glitches because of a quality of 0.75 or too high resolution.

Updated client to 0.0.0.3, waiting for Shaz to update too. VXW 0.0.0.3 is compatible to the 0.0.0.2 server, you just can't damage blocks with mortars yet.

Any particular reason why nobody is playing VXW? Only like 1/10 of all players who download VXW actually even try connecting at least once. No idea what others do with it, but I don't think that they all just fail connecting or something.

Right now, I can tell you that this is player free :P
(so basically yeah, but there are bots on the server serving as cannon meat /simple fighters for you xd)
