'Edit' last post/original post bumps instead of a new post.

To be more precise, instead of a post to bump the thread as usual, is it possible to:
-Edit the last post bumps the thread, regardless of which user (thread owner, other users in the thread, et cetera). Maybe configurable by the thread starter?
-Edit the original post bumps the thread, with something along the lines of 'thread updated' beside the thread's name. Something like this forum:


Is this possible in phpBB, or it is something overly-complicated-cannot-be-done? What do you guys think?
