topo would answer this far better than I could hope to, but we're definitely not using 0.75/0.76 as a base beyond drawing from it idealistically. I do know the plan was/is to create a new engine entirely, but I'm not entirely sure this answers your question... :b (Sent topo a text, he should answer soon(ish)) B)

opengl works just fine, and it's what i'm using. the idea here is to start entirely from scratch; it's a separate game.

No, OpenGL doesn't work fine, you just don't notice that on your expensive PC.
Iceball is a fully new and different game too, but nobody plays it cause it doesn't have any players.
