Hi, Here let me give you a example of a great way to solve the Balance war.
CS got like 30 weapons never counted them , and no one is complaining about the balance , but why? The reason they made the weapons unbalanced and added prices , Simply genial.
So what can AOS / and its copies do to profit from it ? Balancing weapons is a very very hard thing that cant be solved so easy.
But it doesn't need to be balanced just as CS they can be uneven and simply have prices. Kills 300$ Intel capture 800$ or like it would be the best.

---So here are the pros +
-Once for ever solving balance war.
-Game can have much more weapons without totally destroying the gameplay and balance.
-Making the game more interesting.
-Killing enemies gets rewarded , what is a great thing.
-Capturing the Intel would finally be rewarded like it should !

---So here are the cons -
-Players cant chose any weapon like now , they will have to get kills / Captures.
-Its a totally unknown area that never has been tested , will it work well with aos ? ...
-Its also a unknown area for the developers and is affording that they get over them selves and try something new , maybe I hope so much better.

An example
Pistol Free and Crap...
Grenade 200$ can be very usefull for it price.
SMG 500$ CRAP weapon , bad accuracy and totally low damage , but better then a pistol.
Shotgun 800$ Great at close ranges , but totally crap at anything else.
SEMI 1000$ Pinpoint accurate , Great damage , simply awesome . Just pay for it
Mortar 1500$ A great weapon for suppressing the enemy troops

PLEASE DON'T POST SHIT , POST A CONSTRUCTIVE CRITISM ABOUT IT . IT DOESN'T HELP IF YOU ARE A ASSHOLE.

Because Counter Strike and Ace of Spades is two different games. Unless we add all the 30 weapons into Iceball as a mod, it wouldn't simply work.
And your balancing sucks anyway.
And yes, this idea has been suggested before, and it had been considered "bad".
But Vugcy, if you are good/decent at coding Lua, why don't you try do a mod like that for Iceball? See how does it works.

My balancing doesnt sux . I really never seen a thread with this idea . No I dont knew a damn about lua.

I'm going to present to you my reasoning as to why this is not a very good idea:

Ace of Spades is about using voxel based building mechanics to alter the terrain to your advantage on open maps which force you to take cover.

Counter Strike is about using a variety of weapons to quickly kill your enemies in close quarters combat.

Other than the fact they both have guns, they are vastly different...

So yes... but it can be combined why not , theres no problem

Why? Because the good players will get even better weapons, so pros stay pros, and noobs stay noobs. Noobs can't improve because the pros will have OP weapons, while we noobs have freaking muskets.

On top of what other people have said, this isn't a method of balancing. If a weapon is high-powered, but is cheap, then it's OP. Same goes for low-powered, expensive weapons. This is simply another way of giving weapon choice. When you have 24 or so weapons like counter strike, you can't simply give a selection screen at the start for every weapon, as not all weapons are meant to be equal. An alternative to this is to have weapon pickups distributed around the map. Neither of these methods work for AoS, both because of the type of game (other than it being an FPS, it completely different from counter strike) and because the 3 guns are supposed to be equal in terms of power.

tl;dr, vucgy doesn't understand what "balance" means.
