I have about 80hrs played on CS:GO, and I'm still not that good at it.
That's not a matter of a tough learning curve, that's an issue of individual ability, or lack thereof.
So you're expecting people who have not played a second of Counter-Strike to be instantly be getting headshots all over the place when they touch it?

It does have a tough learning curve, just because you might be good at it doesn't mean everyone else is, there's a reason why Counter-Strike is big in the competitive scene.

CS is indeed rough to the newbs, but so is chivalry, but I'd say that CS matches you with more even players, while chivalry don't. That's why it seems less forgiving to noobs.

I'm saying that making a comparison between your indicidual time spent in game, and your individual skill level, is not necessarily proof of a tough skill curve. Many people, myself included, find Counter-Strike a very easy game to pick up, while yourself and others may have trouble with it. Neither of these are instances that should be able to display an easy or difficult learning curve.
I doubt that I've logged more than 5 hours in CS and I'm quite good at it. Maybe it's not your type of game, maybe others have a natural affinity for it, whatever the reason, your ability in the game does not necessarily reflect the learning curve.

Smg isn't overpowered, more of an annoyance factor than anything. Unless you're WEE_GEE i don't really have an issue killing smg users and most other rifle players don't either. SMG is easier to pick up and kill with but requires a far larger learning curve to use as effectively as a top-tier rifle player would with the rifle

Hahahahaha wee gee. I feel the same way about Darksand, his smg technique is really something. Something that I do not like to play against.

I really don't understand the hate against people who use the SMG. It's a lot less accurate and far from overpowered in my opinion. A good rifle shot can beat an SMG any day.

Personally CS:S didn't take that long to get a hang of. I can see it being a bit tough for some younger people whose only exposure to FPS games is hand-holding ones like CoD.

i just dislike the high damage of the smg and the accuracy on fogrange.

It shows that you have a lack of skill. Since the rifle is harder to use at close and mid range, while the smg requires no skill at those ranges and requires some skill at long range. The rifle is also hard to use at range, but it only requires you to point it at heads, while the smg requires recoil management. Still all in all the smg is used by most people with little to no skill. It's just a noob gun.
Pls. Using SMG doesn't mean you are lack of skills. It requires skills also, depends on the user, ranges doesn't matter as long as you know how to control the recoil. I can snipe with smg at all ranges, at some cases, spamming doesn't help at long range because of the spread and recoil and controling the recoil and spread is hard, harder than the rifle. So yeah, skills are required to all weapons and SMG is not a noob weapon.

You know you're just backing my point up more, that range doesn't matter with the smg, which it should do, it should matter. And the rifle recoil handling is a bit different since you have semi and not full auto, the accuracy of the rifle at range is actually quite bad, and the recoil is way worse than the smg so I don't really see how you can think it's easier to control, it's just that you don't notice it as much since you fire one and one round not multiple rounds.

People usually consider the smg easier to pick up that most weapons, leading the majority of new players to use it. Which also leads to strategies some people call "nooby".

I don't hate SMG users, they aren't the issue. They're using the gun that works the best. SMG outclasses the Shotgun and even the Rifle (save the fog line to an extent) at their own ranges.

If you want to have a laugh in close quarters, go with the Shotgun. If you want to attempt to nail people at the fog line, go with the Rifle.

Any other situation? SMG and you can't go wrong.

Can't go wrong? Not really. Any decent rifle user who can dodge can take out an smg user at medium range with ease

You can dodge riflebullets but try to dodge an smg user, that will hardly work :/
