Eddy, at heart your concern is well founded; why should anyone pretend to be a veteran? Why not keep the badge exclusive and honorable? But it hardly matters, and the meaning of 'veteran' is based on speculation, as Fleischgeruch pointed out.

I've been around for years... but it doesn't really matter in my opinion. If you did want to have people listed as veterans it would only make sense to be able to get the badge if you had an account on the old forum... which... good luck with that :).

So, it's kind of a thing that won't make everyone happy. You know who has been around for a long time and a badge shouldn't affect your judgement of someone anyways.

I think it's dumb too, though kind of a non-issue, though there's really no way to enforce it. Honestly the badge is pretty useless, since on this last page everyone using it has been on the forums for at most a little over a month.
