I hate it when people say stuff like "Are you homo?" and "I'm homophobic". Homo does not mean gay. Homosexual means gay. The actual Latin prefix Homo means "Same" or "Man" as in the scientific term "Homozygous" or our species "Homo sapien"

Edit: When you say "I am homophobic" you are saying you are sacred of men or things that are the same. So you would be like mortally afraid of male identical twins.

Yeah, but the English language is always changing because people lose the grasp on the roots of words. English is filled with slang, so what is globally accepted isn't always the literal. Likewise, the question "Are you homo?" Is basically understood to mean "Are you homosexual?". Same with homophobic.
