setting up VPS

i have this problem with VPS, when i find one which is impossible to get for free but when i do i have no clue how to operate..
there are things to consider such as:
1). do i need a good pc for it?
2). how much ram, bandwidth, memory and stuff do i need
3). where can i find a VPS i dont care if it is payable or not i just need to find a good one so i can run my server.
4). i have looked all over the internet but found nothing of value that will help me solve my problems.

You need 512MB to run one server without no lag and be sure it stays up 24/7. I use Beast Node which has good service, a good price and good locations for Americans. If you are looking for something different ram node is used by a few server hosters I think, I know dan uses it. With the 15% off for beast node you are only paying around 4-6 bucks a month. Get which ever is cheaper, I never understood it but the cheaper of the two is fine
