Is there a way to increase the viewing distance? If not will there ever be?

Openspades does have a FoV setting though.

View distance has nothing to do with field of view.

No, it's considered fog hacking to increase it.

Loving all of the petty arguing. No, the view distance is locked at where it is, to provide equal sniping ability for all players. If one player had farther view distance than others, he could kill people without ever being seen.

Problem with OpenSpades is that you can barely spot enemy close to the fog range.

As a matter of discussion, rendering distance in Voxlap is variable, so it should, in theory, be possible to reverse-engineer the client and make the rendering distance grotesquely large, if not boundless.
But that would be hacking, of course. No one would do that... yeah... totally.
